Charlton Wilson is the 6th of 7 children born in suburban Boston, Massachusetts. His early psychotherapeutic training began in 1986 upon meeting Wm. and Lois Wilson and Dr. Robert. Smith. While studying at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City, he trained with Elma Kanefield, MCSW and Frank Roma, MCSW. In 1990 Charlton began training as a peer tech. with Dr. Monica Weil, Psy,D. and Dr. Michael Buffington, Psy,D. Training included working with peers on an individual and group level recovering from sexual abuse and sexual addiction as well as all other forms of addiction and compulsivity.
Charlton has worked with Dr. Daniel Socal who trained directly with Dr. Patrick Carnes, the world's pre-eminent expert and teacher of sex addiction recovery.
Between 2000 and 2003 Charlton worked closely with numerous social workers, psychotherapists and other counselors teaching them the nuances of working with sex addiction recovery which they quickly brought to their client load and colleagues around the Ft Collins area.
In 2004 Charlton began his studies at Colorado School of Counseling Hypnotherapy completing them in 2005
In
2006 Mr. Wilson was added to the Psychological
Evaluation Referral list at Mckee Hospital.
Charlton is
now receiving referrals from the Emergency
Room psych. admissions.
